Our team is committed to supporting our residents to mange their health and wellbeing. We want our residents to enjoy their time with us, getting the most out of life and maintaining life skills which support independence and mobility.

Positive wellbeing means experiencing an overall feeling of happiness and satisfaction with life and is achieved through being able to do those things that bring you pleasure and contentment.

Wellbeing levels can be enhanced by taking part in a balance of activities that promote being physically active, mentally stimulated and socially connected.

Our Care Programmes focus on the individual, their interests and abilities and we create the plan accordingly. We might plan to go shopping once a week, or visit the beach, or watch a tennis match. Whatever the individual’s interests we work to find activities that they will enjoy, keeping hobbies going and finding new ones that promote wellbeing.

“I’m very happy to be here, the care is good.”

Mental Stimulation

Working to maintain balance, strength and co-ordination, improving posture and increasing flexibility is key to leading a more independent life. Every week, Ed our personal trainer visits the home and provides exercises for all abilities. We also offer our residents the opportunity to get out and about in the community as much as possible.

Engaging in favourite hobbies, or discovering hidden talents at something new stimulates and challenges the mind. We offer a range of activities to appeal to different people and work with families and residents to understand what might appeal. We load each resident an Alexa with their favourite music and talking books for relaxation which helps to balance the mind and body.

Spending time with friends and loved ones keeps our residents connected to their past and present. We have an open door policy with no set visiting times – visitors are welcome whenever they please.

Residents enjoy daily social events, such as pet therapy, visits from the local nursery or outings into the community. This ranges from shopping to trips to local tea rooms, boxing gym, the local nursery or pedalling along the seafront with Pedal People.

Nutrition is an important factor in wellbeing, our chef cooks homemade, nutritious food with local produce, always offering alternatives, and always catering to individual dietary requirements.

We also involve residents where we can in making menu choices, getting them involved in the online shopping each week asking what they might like and have held cheese nights where residents can vote on their favourite cheeses which we then have available at mealtimes.

Thank-you so much for your care and kindness shown to my Mum over the years. We were so lucky to have found Grosvenor Lodge. Thank-you again.

Joan - Relative

A big thank-you to all your staff, it all has been very much appreciated by me. I love you all.

Mrs Ducky -

Thank-you for all the help you gave to my Dad and to us while he was in your care. The way my Dad was welcomed and made to feel at ease in his new surroundings was incredible. You should be proud of the way you look after your residents, and your staff are a credit to you. No amount of money would have made my Dad’s last years any happier or better cared for.

Relative -

Thank-you to everyone caring for my Sister. I have not seen her looking so well for a long time, and am so relieved.

Mrs Hannon - Relative

We want to thank you and your wonderful staff who have cared for Dorothy over the past 8 years. She was treated with such love, care and dignity, for which we are so, so happy.

Alan & Pat - Relatives

I have always been struck by one thing – how wonderful your staff have been. I am sure their work can be extremely difficult at times, but they never let it show, they welcomed me with a smile and nothing has ever been too much to ask. They take pride in everything they do and their dedication to the residents is obvious for everyone to see.
