Our Residents

At our residential home in Hove, we believe it’s extremely important to promote independence, and we understand that all of our residents should be treated as individuals. This means each resident has a plan of care designed around their requirements and preferences, and this grants them choice in aspects of their daily routine. They can enjoy a wide range of meaningful activities, nutritious home cooked meals, and visits from their loved ones whenever it suits them.

We care for older people living with varying stages of dementia, as well as elderly people with sensory impairment and other healthcare needs. Our core team operates like a family, supporting our residents in decision making and expressing themselves, and working with relatives and healthcare professionals to ensure the best quality of life for our residents.

Specialist Dementia Care

Our staff are trained to deal with and manage the challenges that dementia can present, and our home is designed and equipped to make life make sense as much as possible for residents. Our hallways are zoned to aid orientation, and we regularly hold reminiscence sessions to help residents get in touch with their pasts.

Nutrious Meals

We consistently support residents at meal times, and encourage them to eat and drink well. Our chef cooks homemade, nutritious food with local produce, always offering alternatives, and always catering to individual dietary requirements.

Access to Local Healthcare

We have excellent links with local health care providers, and have access to several supportive local GP’s. We regularly welcome Brighton & Hove’s in-reach team, comprised of specialist dementia nurses and occupational therapists, who provide valued support and advice to residents, staff and relatives.

I have always been struck by one thing – how wonderful your staff have been. I am sure their work can be extremely difficult at times, but they never let it show, they welcomed me with a smile and nothing has ever been too much to ask. They take pride in everything they do and their dedication to the residents is obvious for everyone to see.

Visitor to Grosvenor Lodge -

We want to thank you and your wonderful staff who have cared for Dorothy over the past 8 years. She was treated with such love, care and dignity, for which we are so, so happy.

Alan & Pat - Relatives

Thank-you to everyone caring for my Sister. I have not seen her looking so well for a long time, and am so relieved.

Mrs Hannon - Relative

Thank-you for all the help you gave to my Dad and to us while he was in your care. The way my Dad was welcomed and made to feel at ease in his new surroundings was incredible. You should be proud of the way you look after your residents, and your staff are a credit to you. No amount of money would have made my Dad’s last years any happier or better cared for.

Relative -

A big thank-you to all your staff, it all has been very much appreciated by me. I love you all.

Mrs Ducky -

Thank-you so much for your care and kindness shown to my Mum over the years. We were so lucky to have found Grosvenor Lodge. Thank-you again.
